A Nitana Vure
Bola – (bnp) Papua New Guinea
As of 2000 there were more than 15,000 speakers of this language or dialect living in Papua New Guinea. The majority of these people live in West New Britain Province, the northeast coast, the Willaumez Peninsula as well as in Harua on the east side of Kimbe.
Alternate names are Bakovi, Bola-Bakovi. There are also many dialects such as Harua (Karua, Xarua, Garua, Mai) which developed from people who resettled on an oil palm plantation. As part of the Language development there are 11 vernacular preparatory schools and Bible portions: 2001 – 2005. The Latin script is used.
